Also, i am abuot 20 blocks away from a huge lake (Ponchatrain)

I LOVE mango, and want to grow them badly.
I have a Florigon about 3ft tall in a large pot
and i have 5 or 6 seedling, 2 of them inground
at about 1ft tall
I plan on planting out the Florigon next spring with crossed fingers, but i also i would love to buy 2 more young trees.

From what i read smaller trees are very susceptible, but, a larger tree could take a bout of 30F for a day or 2 with maybe just leaf loss and a few twigs.

Although last year it got down to the mid-20s for a coupe of days
but that was very un-natural weather for us.
i plan on planting close to the house and using LOTS of compost/ mulch etc...
i can even build a small enclosure for the bottom of the tree.

Any varieties that do better than others ?
If so, how do they taste ?
I read GLEN is cold-hardy ?

Also curious about Jackfruit.
again, i think i am borderline as far as temps
but plan on protecting it well, and only putting it in-ground after its several feet tall.
