idabean - I have no idea what one would add to roundup to make it thickerer (jello pudding?)that would not somehow change the chemical composition. Perhaps a different application method? The "glove of death" works well for me: put on a rubber glove and put a cheapie cotton glove on over it. Dip your hand in the roundup solution (mixed according to label directions - undiluted roundup may have some negative effects on off-target desirable plants), and lovingly caress your wild onions to death. Drip is minimal and you can throw the cotton glove away when you're done. Just a thought...

I knew the term wetting agent wasn't correct. There are "sticking' agents that can be added to some herbicides, and some come already mixed. It's not important, but I knew I wasn't totally off base.

When I called Ortho, or whoever makes Weed b gone, they said "step on the foliage" to flatten it so there is more contact area with the herbicide. (they have no idea how many onions are in my yard)

Spray. Spray again in three weeks if they grow back.

But you can't overseed for bare spots for three weeks, either. And if you have to spray again, by my calculation you'll have to wait six weeks to overseed, and that's not good grass seeding time.

YOu could spend the entire summer on the d***** lawn and never set foot in the flower beds.
