Couldn't tell you one way or the other-don't know anything about them. They sure are attractive, I'll have to check to see if I can find them in Canada. Yes, they do and really it's not that expensive. I might have it shipped to a friend across the line and pick it up-that would be a $50 savings. I looked up Falmec on the internet and where they are located. The factory is located extremely close to where my parents' are from in Italy, so I phoned my aunt over there and asked her to find out what kind of reputation they have in Italy.

We bought a Futuro hood for our renovation and love it! It does the job and looks great as well. One complaint I do have is that the halogen bulb burned out and they said it should last several years. I did contact them and they suggested that perhaps I touched the bulb with my fingers. Ummm no I didn't.

I think they could have sent a replacement which would have made me happy. Other then that, I have no complaints.

I've also got a Futuro hood and it is one of the best things I like about the kitchen remodel. The blower is powerful and gets the majority of the cooking odors out of the kitchen and outside. I like the way I can put the filters into my dish drawers for easy cleaning. In my opinion, it performs a lot better than the Vent-A-Hood we used to have and costs less too. The sleek, Italian-style is also gorgeous to look at if you're into the European look.

All low-voltage halogen lights are very delicate, and very sensitive to any type of power droppage, as well as spikes. If your range hood equipped with any type of halogen lights (regardless of manufacturer), and is connected to the same power line (wire) on the same fuse as any other electrical appliances, such as: refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, dumpling machine, some electric stoves, GFI power outlets, or lights equipped with a dimmable switch  eventually this will cause them to burn out faster than they should.

Some electricians/installers donÂt want to bother running a separate line, so they connect the range hood to whichever wire is nearby. As a result, the halogen lights burn out.

Futuro is made by Falmec in Italy. The difference is, the electronic components in Futuro range hoods are made to comply with UL requirements for United States and Canada.

I do high-end kitchens for a living, and find Futuro products very reliable, and accomodating the modern kitchen design requirements. My designers that I work with also love these products.

We purchased the 30" Moon Crystal Wall Range Hood from Futuro Futuro sometime back and at that time they provided Life Time Warranty on the Motor.
We didn't receive any warranty card with the unit. When I called them and asked at that time, they said as long as we provide the order number they will honor the warranty.

A week ago the motor on our unit died. We contacted Futuro Futuro via email but no responses for 5 business days. After several phone calls, they said the case has been forwarded to the product/motor manufacturer (Falmec) and they will contact us. A week has passed by but no news yet.

Will continue to update on how it goes.
