Thanks :) I think the single sconces would be pretty. Im not sure how tall our mirrors will be though and we have 9 ft ceilings, so I was thinking it might leave a big empty space above?

I'm doing the same as buildinginva...three sconces. I also have a 7' vanity. We'll have two mirrors, one above each sink. A sconce on either side of the mirror and one in-between.

That's one of my issues. I have 8-1/2 foot vanity and 9' ceilings. I would have loved to put scones on either side of two mirrors; however, my sinks are so close to the walls, that won't work.

I was in desperate need of lighting so I bought "temporary" scones to put above the sinks (where my old lights were). Well, I love the lights! And where I once thought I'd put in two mirrors or one mirror framed in marble...I'm putting in a beveled mirror on the entire wall (I think).

But...my first choice would have been to put sconces on either side of the mirrors. It's a beautiful look.

Twogirls, I was also worried about the height of the ceilings. Are you putting in crown molding? That may help.

Another possibility is to have hanging fixtures. Our friends did this in both their bathrooms - for example they have schoolhouse pendants on either side and in the middle of their two recessed medicine cabinets (the bathroom has a very vintage feel) and it looks fantastic. In the powder room downstairs they did beautiful bronze chandeliers on either side of a beautiful gilded-frame mirror.

But if that's not an option, then I also vote for the sconces. ;-)

I am having difficulty with lighting decisions. I don't have enough room for sconces on the sides of the mirrors but can do the middle. Also trying to decided if I should also put lighting over the mirror or recessed in the ceiling. Advice please...
