Love the TOTO soft close

Toilet seat!

Had read where someone said they didn't like this seat because of the way it curves in or something like that.

It's a great seat, and now I wish I had gotten the same thing for the other bath. Very comfy and nice looking to boot!

Just thought someone might like to know.

I love mine too! I have one Dartmouth and one Ultramax. I like the height a lot too - it's not quite ADA, but higher than my old toilets which seemed so low to the ground. I don't understand people who say any toilet seat is uncomfortable. I am always thinking, Gee, how much time are you spending on that seat anyway? LOL.

I also really like how quickly the Toto flushes. 30 seconds and it's over. My old toilet used to moan and groan for 3 minutes or so.

I was wondering if perhaps they sit on theirs to read?lol

I love the TOTO and though our AS Cadet 3 works fine, when I compare the flush and looks, TOTO wins hands down. But to be honest, AS Cadet 3 is a good toilet too.

We like the operation of ours, but if we go to other places, we must remember not to have the seat slam down. The shape is not my favorite. But it beats the outhouse we had for many years.

I LOVE the soft close lids and bought them for all 5 of our toilets. So glad!

Bus_driver, what don't you like about the shape?

Allison, I don't know how we managed before soft close lids, do you? :-)

I don't get it. What is so good about the soft close? Is it the seat that you sit on? Or the lid? If you don't usually close your lid, does it really matter? And if 'he' keeps the seat down, does it matter? Sorry for so many questions, but I'm getting ready to buy a Toto Dalton round, and haven't decided if we need this 'soft close' lid!!! Christy :)

I also love a soft close seat (Church brand). When I bought my Toto Drake the saleslady advised against a Toto seat saying they are very uncomfortable. She sold me the Church and I have to say, I will go out of my way to avoid it for long sits. I don't think it is comfy at all.

We just bought four toto's and I can't believe that they make a seat like that! it is like balancing your tushee on a narrow ridge. I am so upset . Is it because of the soft close lids? Is there anything we can do to change out the seats--does toto make a normal seat--i.e. one that is flatter for sitting on not just balancing on!!

    Christy,
The soft close toilet seat really helps little boys learning to use the toilet. The whole toilet seat, lid and seating area are soft close. It prevents the toilet seat from slamming down on the porcelain toilet.

    Good luck!

I tried the TOTO and also found the seat way too narrow. I like the Kohler San Raphael - it is MUCH more comfortable, and is a bigger seat. I had been planning to get a TOTO, because of all of the good reviews, but it was nowhere near as comfortable as the Kohler San Raphael.

I love the soft-close too. Christy, the beauty of the softclose is that when someone gets up in the middle of the night and goes to close the lid (now this assumes that you've TRAINED them to close the lid), it doesn't slam down and wake up the dead.

I like the fact that it's soft close. But I really hate cleaning it. Especially after the really messy um, "visits", everything collects underneath where it curves.
