Glad to see ths is still thriving - learned a lot on kitchen & appliance forums maybe five years ago before doing my (Brooklyn, NY) kitchen. Now it's time for the bathroom.

I have a pretty fair idea what I want for fixtures, surfaces, etc. My shower knowledge doesn't extend much beyond affection for my current inexpensive handheld setup, and absolute faith that the collective wisdom here is mind-boggling, or more often mind-deboggling. So please deboggle and enlighten.

Been using a "Body Spa Oxygenics" handheld - best by a fair margin of the handful of low-flow showerheads I've experienced - with a "Rainshower CQ1000" chlorine filter.

No complaints with the functionality. Just, the look and feel of the combo says cheap plastic, which has been fine but would clash a bit more in the slicker Bathroom 2.0.

Definitely want to retain just the one showerhead, a low flow handheld. And a chlorine filter. Probably want the shower on one of those sliding bars this time.

What are my options? I want a spray at least as nice as the Body Spa - they claim air intake valves help pressurize or oxygenate the water; whatever the physics, it does indeed provide a more robust spray than some cheapies. Can one find this performance with 2.5 gpm flow or less, in a model with a little more polish and heft? With, ideally, an integrated, cosmetically invisible KDF filter - or maybe someone makes a nice looking filter housing in chrome or brushed nickel?
