Samsung Customer Service, Is it really bad?

Having seen the prior post on Samsung record on repairs is not getting many responses I would like to pose the more general question of what experiences folks have had. It seems that most comments on this forum speak to the great performance of the refrigerators and so I'm thinking that they don't need repairs often enough for general commentary on Samsung customer service. Is this a case of the out of practice and lonely Samsung repairman replacing the lonely Maytag guy?

We are thinking of getting the new biggest Samsung french door bottom freezer but I don't want to have a repair nightmare. When our appliance installer was working on installing our other appliances we told him we were thinking of getting the Samsung and he said it is "difficult to find someone who knows how to work on them." I didn't think to question him about exactly what he meant but now I'm wondering if I should be thinking of getting a different refrigerator.

I'd be very interested in hearing your experiences. TIA.

Good Luck and great idea for a post---I have never experienced a fridge failure in my 66 years---but I can
imagine how awful that would be.
Hopefully, post like your will minimize the chances of somebody else going thru such a failure.

My first experience with Samsung service. It is terrible. I Bought 55" LCD TV in 2008. For the last one year it is talking long time to turn on. It just keeps clicking for 5 minutes. I checked internet and saw many complaints , similar to problem I have. I learn there was class action suit filed. It was quietly settled in 2011. They gave 18months for people to take advantage,, but they never informed the TV owners. I called them recently, and I was told I am out of luck. Now I will have to spend $300-400 for parts and labor. I had to stay on phone line for 40 minutes before I gave up and went on Live Chat. Obviously, they do not want to talk to customer. Their customer support for US is in India.

This experience is very different from what I have with GE, for example.

Samsung has developed an attitude with their success. No more of this. I am not going back to them. I have plenty of options.
