Our masons covered our windows with plastic when installing the brick. The interiors are not covered (except the one that is be be stained.

Make sure the painters know how to re-install them if they need to be painted. One of our windows fell out a second story window the second night we were there. 50% had been put back incorrectly. Murphy's law......

we used protectiveproducts.com glass proctection film on all of our windows (inside and out). Took a while to put on but well worth it. Makes final clean a breeze.

That should be a reed flag it was not installed correctly.

If you mean a sash as opposed to a window, bad move in the painters.

Pps7 and Soggydollar, did your plastic cover the window frames as well as the glass? I checked out the protective products link and that looks promising. I was hoping to cover the frames as well as the glass, though. Funny, you need the jaws of life to get through the packaging for a $3 pack of batteries but no protection for vulnerable $$$$ windows.

We did not cover the frames only the glass. The blue film that they sell will stay on your windows for up to six months. It kept the paint, plaster and mortar sticking to the glass.

If you can put the film on the windows before they are installed, it will be much easier.

like soggy said, the film products work well for this. usually you just cover the frames with a high grade duct tape. we use this stuff form plasticover and have been ordering more lately as they have it at $20 off per roll. link is below...good luck!
