Hi Lisa. What a steal on that rug. There are a few things to consider when choosing and installing curtains. Like the length of the curtains, the curtains rod pockets, the width of the window, and functionality vs aesthetics.

I sugest 84" or 96" in length which is probably the lengthyou have hanging. Secondly, if you intend to keep your exsiting rod, which appears to have rings, then I would be sure that the curtains chosen have the same rod pocket.

If your going for a new one I personally believe the grommets are the best for everyday usage and economically speaking.

For the best coverage multiply the window with in inches by 2.5 or 3 and hatever the result is you want to be sure that your curtain panels equa . That number for maximum fullness.

Lastly, is it important that these panels be energy efficient to either keep the room temperature s regulated?

With that said I recommend the Kendall curtains which can be found at Kohls. These.curtains pull in the color s from the rug and tie it in to the rest of the room. I wouldn't recommend anything for the window either than solids based on the existing style of the room. Hope this helps.i

Assuming that you mostly leave them open for the view, I'd go for white sheers with a sort of leafy pattern to echo the pattern of the rug.
