You could try replacing the glass with reeded glass to help obscure cabinet contents.

Why don't you buy some stick on window frosting? It looks so nice and easy to buy from eBay.

You can actually get window film that is frosted (plus other patterns) to apply to your existing glass.

You can now buy etching spray in a can. You could run a slim strip of tape around the perimeter of the glass and then spray the rest and then you'll have frosted glass done on the cheap. If you have some $$ to spend then just go to a glass manufacturer and buy something you like that will hide the stuff but still look modern and not dated.

I'd vote for the etching spray. I've used both the spray and the film and for kitchen cabinets, the film tends to peel.

Rustoleum makes a pretty good one for amateur use. You should be able to buy it at Lowes or a well stocked Ace hardware or Home D or craft store. If u are going to try a pattern then get the Frog Tape or buy electrical tape which comes thin and you can try a clear border with the etching in the center or a lattice pattern. The 2 tips I would give is for you to practice on a cheap piece of glass first and to practice consistent sweeping motions so it goes on evenly. Have fun
