Best Power Pack

Ok, so it turns out that I was all worked up for nothing, though it was not my fault but those incompetent contractors' I had talked to, LOL.

All my venting problems can be solved by building a soffit inside the brick cove (that is surrounding the cooktop) and using a Power Pack, something like on the picture (see the link).

I need about 600 cfm. The only limitation is that the unit cannot be more than 15" deep (from front to back). I have looked at Zephyr, Broan, Vent-a-hood and my head is spinning.

What are the better power packs?

TIA!

I have been wondering what the denouement of your cove ventilation was, eleena. Maybe I missed some of your posts, but this sounds like a fabulous solution.

I don't know the answer to your question about the "better" power packs though.
Glad to see you have a workable plan!

Thank you!

I have no idea why no contractor had told me about it before. Now, that I know what "Power Pack" is, it seems pretty obvious. But I wasted days and days (literally) trying to find the "right" range hood. :-(

I think I should have asked a different question:

What are the better external blowers?

The rest is probably irrelevant as liners are not that crucial.

Anyone?
