Yes. Tonight I used some of the Electrasol all in one witht he little ball things in them that came withhe dishwasher and they still smell like it. I am in the process of draining all of the rinse aid out of the door and running a rinse cycle on it and them trying to wash them with just soap. Some of the glasses smell of it too a bit. It is not as prevelant as the plastics though I can almost taste it when I tried my daughter's milk tonight from a plastic cup. It was gross. I am going to see if I can get it all off with some water in my sink and a little vinegar. Otherwise I am tossing all the plastics or settign aside until I can figure out the issue at hand and remedy it. They are all drinking from glass. They usuall do, but we had dinner on the patio and they used the plastic cups.

Ok I have decided it is all my dishes now, my metal espresso steaming pitcher smells of it. I think when any dish/glass etc comes from there it should have a neutral smell to it! right? For the most part? I think it is too much rinse aid I think the dish soap packs contain it and then with it being in the door it disperses it as well. I am going to buy some plain old soap, no rinse-aid in it and see what happens. It is gagging me to drink from a glass. It takes on the taste of the chemical.

I would never use dishwasher gelpaks or tablets. There's no way to control the detergent dose. Any claim of rinse aid being included IN the detergent is largely bogus IMO, because the detergent is (or should be) gone down the drain by the time the final rinse comes along.

Best results are via a standard POWDER dishwasher detergent, one that contains ENZYMES (and preferably phosphates), and a separate rinse aid.

Your rinse aid dispenser should have a dosage adjustment on it. Factory default is typically mid-position. Try cutting it down to minimum, then back up a little at time if needed to improve drying performance.

If your machine is new the smell might be coming from the gasket and the racks/wash arms as they are plastic/nylon and I would think would have a smell for a while from the hot water and heat drying until the unit get broken in. This is JMO but I can remember news ones smelling for a while and gradually this goes away.
You might try running it with vinegar or dishwasher magic and see if that helps. I know I did use Cascade's version of rinse aid one time and it caused the interior to have a smell. Is yours Jet Dry or Cascade?
I still believe it is the "materials inside" you smell.

I use Cascade. I have used Finish and they work well. I've had new dishwashers and I've had to break them in to tone down the smell.
