air purifiers - what are you using?

We are looking into installing an air purifier to our HVAC system, for the obvious purpose of cleaner air, less allergies, etc.

We're really not sure where to look/what brands are best, so if anyone is doing this with your build, please share your product/information.

Thank you!

We have the Aprilaire 2200 mounted on a Carrier Infinity furnace. I didn't do any research though as DH was in charge of the HVAC system.

Here is a link that might be useful: aprilaire

Pure Air Systems. You have a lot of choices as to the types of filters you use. We use a HEPA, but also a charcoal filter for gas and odor adsorption. Very helpful in a new house with outgassing materials. I have asthma and allergies and the standard coal-based charcoal filters trigger my asthma. So, Pure Air offers alternative ones and that saved me! You special order it because the standard one is the problematic one for me. I use the coconut shell carbon.

Excellent system for me; in use here since 2003. Will install same system in the new house.
