I don't use my ipad much. Use my iphone more when out and about, still prefer my laptop at home. I use Safari.

I'm using Safari on my iPad with no issues, but like others, I prefer browsing using a larger screen and use FireFox on my PC. I love the ad blocking.

I use Safari on both my iPad and Macbook. Haven't had any problems.

Safari - what kind of problems are you having?

I had some kind of problem logging into GW once that seemed to be resolved by making sure cookies were enabled. Then another time I had same problem and turning the phone off and on and then going to the URL again fixed it. I never shut my phone off and sometimes it needs to be turned off to clear up various "problems".

I also use safari on desktop, ipad, ipod touch. No problems here.

iPad-Safari. Is that the only type of browser iPads use? They had an IOS update yesterday. The iPad IOS updates always make my iPad run faster.

There are times I can't get online, but that only last about 30 seconds.

I was on Safari when I started having these problems. I try to log in, enter my info., and get a message that I need to log in. Happens over and over. Now iPad works for GW log on in Safari and Chrome, but iPhone works in neither. GW is the only site where I am having this issue.

I've had issues logging onto GW in the past it suddenly resolved itself. I think, however, it was on GW's end, not the browser.

Kitchendectective, go to the settings>safari and reset it or delete cookies and cache.

Someone on the Computer Help Forum suggested that last night, but it did not help. I just tried it again to make sure, but there's no change. Just gives me the log in fields all over again. Is this because it's an old (old being 2 years) iPhone on 3G network? I never had any issues until a couple of weeks ago. Then they were intermittent, but increased in frequency. Now I cannot post using the iPhone at all. However, I have had no problems with other sites that I use frequently. Have I entered the Twilight Zone?

Well, you should get the log in fields the first time after doing it--you're deleting all the cookies that store the information about sites you visit, so you should have to reenter the info one time.

I am not referring to just after the cookies and cache are cleared. This is what happens immediately after I enter the user name and password and press log in. No error message, nothing. Just the reappearance of the same screen asking for user name and password.

Have you tried settings>safari>advanced>website data>remove all website data? (This will reset safari to its original state--you will lose all data from all visited sites.)

oakleyok, thanks for the heads-up re: IOS update! Hadn't gotten a pop-up/alert on either my iPhone or iPad about it. Went into settings, and updated on both.

Yes, I tried that, but it did not affect the problem.

You are having the same problem I had - it suddenly appears for no apparent reason. I managed to get it to go away with the above actions.

I use safari on both, and have never had a problem.

Now I cannot log in on iPad or on iPhone.

Hmm, I've never heard of a reset not fixing any unique site problems unless the site itself remains broken, sorry. It's particularly odd that it happens on both devices. You might try going somewhere else with wifi like your local library or panera or starbucks and logging in there. Do you have the same problems on their network? (I've been assuming through all this that the problems are with wifi and not 3G, incidentally.)

I just entered my home wifi password for the southern node (we have three nodes, but I find the passwords are a royal pain) into the iphone and the phone accepted my log in information. I have been using 3G all along. I am now going to retrieve my iPad and see what happens with it. In the meantime, why would the 3G network become problematic over a two week period?

Now the iPad is allowing the log on also, but I have done nothing to it.

In my limited experience, 3G is often problematic. It's best not to use it unless you must, like in the car, or for those features which only work on 3G. It also saves you bandwidth to use wifi when available.

It's possible that your 3G was running slow and timing out before the information made it to the site. Where I live, theoretically we have 3G on all networks and 4G on some, but in reality we're usually on the Edge network or equivalent, which makes it more or less impossible to use it for anything more than text email.

I just had same problem again. Shut phone off and back on and closed previous GW window and reopened and no need to login at all. I did happen to turn on wifi at the same time though I've had same problem/solution when I had no wifi access. I have 4G - not sure how that compares with 3G

If I go from one part of the house to another, I have to switch nodes and enter another cumbersome password. That is how I got in the 3G habit--and this is a ranch, so when I go outside . . .

Here's another update on my experience with this. Got the login screen again today. Tried just turning wifi on - reentered GW and login screen gone, no need to login. So there does appear to be an issue with whether you're using wifi or not. Weird...

Relieved that I am not the only one! I just use wifi when I am at home now.

Weird, exact same problem on iPad - wouldn't let me log in. Just an endless loop, telling me I had to log in. I tried Chrome, didn't help.

I just tried what was suggested above, turning on wifi, and, as you can see, it let me log in and post.

Both devices have stopped allowing me to log-in again. This after the iPad did start allowing log-in and worked for about a week. I have just accepted that I am in The Twilight Zone and shall remain there as a fairly well adjusted alien in Technology Land.

I think GW has a problem - though when I contacted them about this they told me the problem was something with my OS and/or device. Don't have any similar problem with any website other than GW. It's very annoying.
