Fratelli Onofri? Any reviews? Seen IRL?

I'm looking at buying a fratelli onofri 36" range - has anyone bought one of these? any comments? reviews? anyone seen one in real life?

I did a search, and it has been discussed. Someone said they were planning to buy - but haven't seen any updates or reviews....

Thanks in advance!

Bringing to the top for any updates on the Fratelli Onofri? Anyone?

well... i bought one last night online at ajmadison. i have no idea when it will arrive - but at less half the price of a thermador or viking, i figured it's worth a shot. i got an extended warranty - as i have no idea about the relability of this brand. i'll post a review when we get it - and use it. it'll be a few weeks, we've got to finish the kitchen (as well as the rest of the complete renovation) then get moved in.

For the price, very well made. Quality metal knobs, brass burner valves, great 5 burner layout. Will also soon be available in double oven versions with rotis in the small oven.

It is my opinion that these ranges are built in the same factory or even by the same folks that build DeLonghi appliances. There is no denying the similarities in their construction and components. The main difference is the accessories on the range to give it a different look. Many Italian companies use similar components i.e. the Delonghi and Bertazzoni ranges share the same type of power burner and legs. I am curious to find out if my assumptions are correct!!

Excellent observation, carbiznh. I am just mostly curious at this point to have someone give a detailed review on usage, issues, etc. Doesn't seem like anyone is purchasing the Fratelli....maybe no news is good news?

I just remodeled my kitchen. I put in a 36" Fratelli Evolution range. I was inspired to do so from inputs from others. I found a high-end applicance store in Wilmington, OH to order it from. They were wonderful. I have only made a couple of meals and baked cookies. It is beautiful. I am happy with the performance so far. It has such a design oriented profile that it does not over power the kitchen, but the oven is huge. I like the arrangement of the burner size. The grates fit nicely in a recessed grove so they do not rub and scratch the surface like others do. It has a standard thermostat with temps in 25 degree increments. We considered the Fisher Paykel until I learned it only has 50 degree increments on a dial numbered 1-8. The burner grate arrangement on the Fisher Paykel tends to scratch the surface. So far, with limited experience, we are very happy with our purchase and our supplier.

I just bought a Fratelli Evolution after doing a little research. I wanted a pro range that was dual fuel but did not want to spend $5,000 or more for one. Fratelli offered the style and the quality I was looking for at $2500.So far my husband and I LOVE it. It's beautiful to look at and it cooks very well. We are still learning all it's functions but have had no problems to date. The oven is very large. Love the five burners. But be aware that it requires 240/208 Volts, more than American made models. My contractor had to set up an electrical outlet that could handle it for us.The gas line was no problem. I highly recommend it.

lovetorenovate, I was wondering how you like your Fratelli Onofri range now that you've had it for a year and a half. We are at the baby stages of our kitchen remodel, but this range has caught my eye! We're lucky enough to have a showroom nearby that has one on the floor.

    Hi,
I have had an Evolution since December 08. This is a fantastic unit. I had bought it for a song as it had been bumped by a forklift and the outer layer of the door broken, there are three layers of glass. It still works well and the only downside is that Eurochef, the distributor, is having trouble getting a new door skin in from Ialy. So far they have sent me everything that was needed to do the initial repairs under warranty, the door I will have to pay for.
So the service has been good, it cooks like a dream, and it is also extrememly energy efficient. The oven is rated as only taking 12.5 amps and that is hard to believe.
I had switched from gas to the dual fuel, my electric bill has not changed, I had added two more effecient appliances and actually my bill has gone way down.

I'm also looking into buying Fratelli Onofri and your reviews have been very helpful. I do mainly wok cooking and would like to know if someone would provide feedback on how the burners are. I was thinking about the Dacor, but the reviews on the oven hasn't been good. With Fratelli Onofri , the oven seems good, but not much was mentioned on the burners....

We are looking for an Italian stove. We came accross the Hallman Industries range at a distributor in Texas. Does anyone know about this brand? They have duel fuel and gas models for 36" and I can't seem to find a better price out there. They say it's manufactured by the same company in Italy that makes ranges for other brands. If anyone has experience with this product, I'd like to hear about it........Thanks John

I bought and installed both a range (36" if I recall) and wall oven (undercounter) from Fratelli Onofri almost 10 years ago. Absolutely great to cook on and in. No problems whatsoever in the 3 years I owned the home. I design and build houses and was absolutely pleased with the quality, simple design and functionality.

So regarding the Fratelli Onofri, specifically Royal Chiantishire-Looks like this company has gone out of bussiness:(( But, I was able to purchase this beauty for a song on CraigsList, locally. She reported having no luck finding a repairman, parts, etc., and also problems with the heating of both ovens. One does not heat at all, the other only warms. I"m sure this is an easy fix, so I bought it-no Owner's Manual, and I can't even find any information on the web. . I have it stored and hope to find out any and all information you friendly folks could provide. ANY ONE. . ? Please :) Habillis DesignBuild perhaps???

We have had our Fratelli free standing blue enamel range for 9 years now and can't say enough great things about it! The BTU power is distributed very thoughtfully across all the burners with the center, 5th one, producing the greatest BTU which can come to a boil very fast. Oven is quite large. Stainless handles are quality and easy to use. Only downside is the icons used on the oven settings are not intuitive. When we have guests, no one can figure out how to use the oven. But a well educated owner does just fine. PS People love the look with the blue enamel. We are now working on a kitchen in our new house and planning to buy another one!
