I need a space heater. My kitchen (which is an addition) is so cold, especially near the outside walls where the kitchen sink is. Also by the doorwall which is where the table is.

My family room is also freezing in the winter. Slab foundation, 16 windows (yes 16), a natural fireplace and 12 foot ceilings -- Brrrr!!!

Does anyone have experience with a Vornado heater? It is supposedly a "whole room" heater. Any others -- Holmes, Bionairre, etc... that would help? I would really only run it when we are making and eating dinner and then in the family room in the evening when watching TV.
