For a short time, Joann's had a bamboo yarn. I bought a couple of skeins to try. I loved the way it felt, very soft. But it had no give, so the piece I knit had no stretch at all. That would be fine for something like a scarf, but probably not for something like a sweater. It was discontinued after only a couple of months. That is my only experience with bamboo yarn, so I can't say that other brands would be the same.

That's really good to know, Donna....I've 'felt' it at our yarn shop and might well have tried it if you hadn't said that about no give...boy, you could get in an expensive mess that way, couldn't you, if you didn't know!

I love it for socks. Especially light weight summer/warm weather socks.
