1st be sure the bulk of the wax is gone. Remove the rest by placing layers of newspaper or paper towels on both sides of the spot and use a warm iron to melt the wax. The newspaper will absorb the wax. After that, the best thing I've found for greasy spots is Energine, available in grocery stores with the cleaning supplies.

Smells terrible, but works great on grease... in the automotive section of your local walmart or auto store...

engine cleaner... brand name I typically get is 'gunk'

comes in an aerosol can, spray it on and wash... then wash a second time to remove the smell... I've yet to have a grease/oil/tar stain this hasn't taken out, including from a new pair of pants that 'skidded' across a newly sealed black top drive.... ahh children :-)

Thanks for the recommendations. I didn't have them written down when I was in Lowes the other day and picked up Krudkutter, which didn't work at all, and in fact, made stains of its own on the tablecloth! I'm going to return it. I followed directions given by company personnel (funny how two different people gave two different instructions - I tried one after the other when the first did not work) to no avail.

I think I'm giving up now...
