If you see ice on the lines either you are very low on freon, or the air is blocked by dirt. 6 months is long enough to block the coil. It needs to be checked and maybe cleaned. Once cleaned, the freon needs to be checked. Check the filter. Call a serviceman.

When was the last time you changed your filter? When was the last time you invested in a seasonal system check?

You could have;
1. A stuck (closed) contactor outside, keeping the system iced up.
2. A very dirty coil, filter, collapsed duct, bad motor.
3. Low on freon.

If the system was off a few days and there was no ice on the lines, and you felt little airflow when you turned it on, then #2 applies.
If it was off a few days and there was still ice on the lines, #1 applies.
If it was off a few days, you turned it on and it ran with good airflow but it iced up again and the airflow decreased, #2 and/or #3 applies.

I agree, dirty filter, low charge, coil freezing over causing no air flow.......any and all of the above....
