You could hang a fabulous painting on it, something as large as 65x65 or even taller, above a sofa or a credenza or on it's own, depending how minimalist you are going to make this room...

I was actually going to put i a built in bookcase on left wall, but should I put on largest wall? I am showing 2 more pictures so you can see other walls.

Modern elements you might consider could be a large metal art feature or perhaps a combination of black and white photos in chrome or (your accent) color metal frames...you might be familiar with floor mirrors (they lean against the wall rather than hung), some are modern and can make a nice addition to either framed photos or metal art. If I could offer another suggestion...select your furniture first then select your wall decor. Have fun with it!

Are you going to remove the wall to wall?

What furniture do you have? What will be your focal point? Do you have a fireplace? I see three walls - the first one you pictured, the one that is all windows and a third with a bunch of stuff piled against it. Is there a fourth, archway or door?

There is not a fourth wall, it is all open to the dining room. I am looking for a leather sofa and possibly two chairs. The reason why I dont want to put bookcase on the largest wall is because the ceiling is so high and off center.

I would love to see the bookcases on the left wall. Top choice would be Ikea's Billy bookcases with the added height pieces a MUST HAVE! They come in white or black/brown, etc. You could include a section for hanging a TV on the wall, as Billy is very versatile, coming in various sizes and with glass doors or without. Even on a big budget, Billy works well, and allows the big bucks to go into other parts of the room.

I guess I would make the window the focal point. Put the sofa on the opposite wall and if room to walk by flank the sofa with two chairs. If that doesn't work put the two chair in front of the window wall. Live with the furniture placed that way for a while.
The other option is to make the blank wall the focal point as shown in some of the pictures above or put in a faux fireplace - sizable one or even an antique fireplace mantel.

Is this your only living room or do you have a separate family room.

Thank you all for all your ideas. This would be our "formal" living room as we have the family room with TV in that. I will be getting rid of the shutters that are on the right side as they do not open. Thats right they do not open. I will need new window covering also.

I think you have room for a sweeping sectional floating centerstage on a fabulous area rug over the carpet. Let the rug inspire your color choices and the sofa face your focal, whether it becomes the windows/view, or a wall where you install a focal point.
