thanks for anwering ~~ yup, i did google hobo & i did get the same results as you did ~~ the reason i posted was to see if anyone on this forum has had any experience with hobo ~~

her cabinets were truly gorgeous & had all the bells & whistles, seemed very well constructed too ~~

places like home depot etc. are mentioned all the time; so wondered why haas cabinetry from hobo has never come up (?) ~~

i must admit, even though i have a hobo fairly nearby, it has never occurred to me to go there ~~ just looked like it wouldn't be a high quality kind of place! ~~ are looks deceiving?

has anybody had any experience (good OR bad) with them? thanks, phyl

I have no experience with cabinetry from Hobo, but I bought ceramic floor tile there when we refinished our basement family rooms about four years ago. I don't remember what we paid for the tile, but the tiles in each box were in excellent condition, just like the much more expensive ones at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. We also bought 9 x 12 area rugs to put over the new tile, and it's beautiful.

Hobo looks like a dump, but there are some great bargains there.

They must not load everything on their site cause it has a lot of empty categories.

Hi I remodeled my kitchen with Haas Cabinets about one year ago and have been very pleased with the quality/value. I get compliments on them all the time. I used a local kitchen deisign center but recently when I decided to redo the Master bathroom I discovered HOBO. I purchased Haas bathroom vanities from them as they were priced significantly lower than the place I bought the kitchen cabinets. Hobo was friendly and courteous. Check out their Villa Park store as they have the largest and nicest kitchen center.

I'll concur with shermann - you wouldn't think you could find great stuff, but dig through the lack of flair and glamour and you will find terrific bargains. We've gotten powder room vanities there and they were pretty good quality.

I bought my basement porcelain floor tile there marked down from $18.00 to $5.00 a box. Only three tiles had chipped corners in 18 boxes. It appears to be of the same quality tile as the rest of the box stores.

We had a terrible experience here, don't be deceived by the name, there are absolutely no hobos sold at this store ... we got inside and clearly it was designed to accommodate hobos, but none were there or on sale. If you want to buy a hobo you're still best to do this on the blackmarket. Just our opinion.
