Presoak is a 30 minute pause after the fill for the main wash, it includes occasional tumbles to redistribute the load. It's selected in the Options menu and can be used in most cycles. There is also a cold 2 hour soak, selected on the dial. This is a separate cycle that ends with a short, slow spin and does not advance into a wash cycle. HTH, Todd

You're welcome. I've had the machine for 3 years now. It replaced a machine that had pre-wash and was bummed about that too. I soon realised that I really don't miss it. The pre-soak option is usually enough.

I wanted a pre-wash cycle, too...and was disappointed the Bosch 700 didn't have it...but went with it anyway. What I have since discovered is that it has something even better than pre-wash: the Quick Wash...and you get two rinses with that. When I want something pre-washed, I just select Quick Wash from the menu option using any cycle I need to use. The entire wash and two rinses is just 25 minutes and is far superior to a normal pre-wash. After it's finished, I just set the cycle I want as normal. Results have always been spectacular.

That sounds tempting, but I think I would miss the convenience of just loading it up and starting it once. I am now leaning toward the Samsung WF448.

The LG's have a Pre-Wash in most Cycles = 8 minute wash, 5 minute intermittent spin...
