Prices are locked in like Bose Speakers, there's no way to get around it.
The only thing that will work for you is to get the best warranty the store offers, so shop around!

As you know, Electrolux offers rebates. This pretty much matches the sales that stores offer on other appliances  doesnÂt it?

I think I blew it a few weeks ago. Best Buy had the Electrolux machines On Sale on their web site. I went to a store and inquired about the sale and was told by a very insistent woman that I was mistaken  they are never on sale. I suggested she go online and see for herself  which she did. She then started making *lots* of phone calls saying she would get to the bottom of this "mistake". Two days later, the sales were gone from the website. :-\

You can get around UMRP, but the problem is getting the sales person to understand how to do it. Most sales people don't understand how to write-up a sales contract.

So, anyway, how to get around the pricing:

Draft a sales contract

Include in the contract the items you are purchasing

Quote the UMRP pricing and state that you will pay this price plus tax

Add a clause that the seller is giving you an "ask and receive" cash-back offer for X amount due after goods are recieved by the buyer.

This offer does not affect the price of the goods and the seller is still selling at the UMRP price--it's just retailer is giving you an amount back for being a good customer.

I hate UMRP (or any type of price-fixing). There is a reason vertical price-fixing is illegal and while i understand why the supreme court says UMRP is legal, I feel that only companies with inferior products need to do this--otherwise if there products are good, shouldn't they just sell? If I as a retailer can move more of your product, why should I be penalized? Its MY profite margin, not the suppliers.

UMRP is an attempt to control the free-market, and as a result buyers need to just be creative to get around it.
