Dear Genevieve: Graphic Bird Wallpaper?

Hi there... did anyone catch the Saturday night episode of Dear Genevieve (or whatever it's called now)? I loved, loved, that bird wallpaper they used in the room, and have searched for it online (and on the HGTV website) but couldn't find any information... has anyone seen it or have any leads? Thanks in advance!

I'm sure that if you write the show someone will tell you what it is. But you might also search "bird wallpaper" and hit "shopping" and see what comes up. Good luck!

Hi~I didn't see the show but last year I ordered a sample of a 'bird wallpaper' as shown below (different colorways available)

It's from Walnut Wallpaper - Designer is 'Cavern' & the pattern is Blackbird.

Sorry-I can't seem to figure out how to post the link!

    Is this it??

Oh, thank you - that's very pretty, but not it....

Oceanna - I did every search combination I could think of :) and couldn't find it. I may send an email to HGTV, good idea.

Writing to HGTV is probably your best option -- if they reply.

In the meantime, one reason you may not be getting the results you're looking for is that "wallpaper" is also a computer term. Try searching on a synonym such as "wallcovering" instead, or use both terms.

If you have your heart set on a particular pattern, you'll need to be much more specific in your search. Bird motif wallcoverings have been popular since Colonial times, and there must be thousands of wallpapers with birds in the design out there. If you can narrow your search by style ("Colonial", "Victorian", "toile"), type of bird ("peacock", "bluebird", "cardinal"), or wallpaper manufacturer, you'll have more luck.

Another option is to go to the site of a wallpaper manufacturer or retailer and use their advanced search feature. I've included a link to results (using "birds" and "large" as keywords) on the Thibaut site. If you find a pattern in a similar style to the one you're looking for, you can use the keywords in the description for your own searches.

Maybe you could ask Gen herself. Good luck!

ooooo....I saw that episode. I loved the paper. If you find out what it is...post it!

I didn't either, but could it be Florence Broadhurst? There are some bird prints in the "Blueprints" collection.

It looks like someone asked her about the wallpaper on her Facebook page. You may want to keep an eye on it and see if she answers.

Miller, I'm sorry your search didn't give you what you wanted.

Here is Genevieve Gorder's Facebook page. I see two other people have asked her that question. Maybe add your request to the list? Get a couple of your friends to add their requests?

I'd still write the show, though. I've gotten answers that way.

I added my voice to the chorus on her FB page. Let's hope she checks it eventually!

    I found another bird wallpaper...
    Any chance this is it?

LOL. I love this forum. Only the people here would be so interested in my search for this obscure wallpaper - thanks everyone :) I did send her a note on that link that forhgtv posted, and I also sent a note to HGTV. I didn't realize she had a FB page, I'll check that too. I did in my many wasted hours of searching, find this print that I thought was very pretty, it's not quite a 'fun' as the bird print but it's nice, too....

lisa mocha, could you tell me who makes the wallpaper you posted?

I think I found it and I wasn't even looking for it! I was looking at fabric on the schumacher website and a picture popped up over on the right showing it. It said it was by Saul Steinberg Designs, so I did a search for bird wallpaper by Saul Steinberg and came up with a picture. I haven't actually searched to see where you can get it, but I figured this would give you something to go on.

Laurie - Great find! That paper is so striking. If I could get my hands on a sample, I'd frame it.

msrose--THAT'S IT! It comes in a black and white version as well as the multi-colored version you posted. Did a search for Saul Steinberg wallpaper...it's called "Aviary". Link to the Schumacher site below. I found one site that claimed it was $186/roll...which seems about right for a Schumacher paper.

Decorator's Best has it for $116/roll...

The Decorator's Best website has it priced at $116.25 per roll and offers the option of requesting a $7 sample. The attached link is for the black on white paper, but they also offer the multi on white.

Is anyone familiar with this website?

The 2nd paper is from Schumacher & the pattern is called A-Twitter (color is Winter)

I wish I could figure out how to post links properly!
(Just google these and they'll come up...)

mhillgal---if you check the sample policy on that website...one is supposed to return the sample to the manufacturer:

    Can I keep samples?
Samples are on loan and you may keep them until you are finished with them. However, when you are finished with them it is important to return them to the proper manufacturer.
    Why are samples priced?
The $7 Sample Fee is a processing fee and is non refundable unless you do not receive your sample. All samples are ordered online.

Mjsee, you are correct; you can't keep the samples. I had not checked the sample policy on website and now see that, as you say, the $7 is a processing fee. Thank you for checking.

If anyone actually gets this and has leftovers, I will gladly purchase them. If I could get a single roll, I would seriously consider it. I really love this paper. : )

I have searched for a link to write regarding curb appeal the block or any ink that may direct me to find help with our landscaping (or most important, lack of). We have been in our home for a few years now and due to my husband's recent illness (he has since had a double-lung transplant)cost of landscaping has been a bit cost-prohibitive. If you could please direct this message it would be much appreciated! Thanks much! Linda Koerner (the best fan of HGTV)
