Gorgeous bar top. How did you do that?

Would you have instructions that someone could purchase like a plan for creating your own version?I am a do-it- your-selfer whenever possible and beginning to look for ideas for our retirement home. This looks so beautiful and yet affordable. Think it might be lighter than trying to use lumber, yet has that almost spalted look which is so intriguing.

I think it would be impossible to instruct someone how to create artwork. However, if you can build a plywood box, ease the edges and prime it that is pretty much your canvas. Once you have the base then you just start adding the artwork (layers of paint and mixed media. Once that is complete then you need to seal it with at least 4-5 layers of a durable finish. Having a cabinet finisher spray it would be the best choice or you can apply it yourself with a catalyzed laquer or polyuerethane. This will protect the "art". Have fun.

Thanks for your response. I am an artist so guess I'm really wondering about the type of chemical composition of 'mixed media' used to achieve the faux finish. I would assume it's acrylic based so will have fun playing on some smaller pieces. Thanks for the tips.

Its bartop resin, you can pick it up at lowes in paint section.
