We're choosing windows for our new house tomorrow. I'm hung up on double- versus single-hung. I know all the cleaning pros and cons, but what about window coverings? Do the double-hung windows take up more "space" in the opening (2x4 walls) which limit what you can do regarding inside mounting of blinds or shades?

For the first floor, at least, I don't mind cleaning from the outside and could save some money there by using single-hung. I might do double-hung upstairs so that I can clean them. Our last house had casement windows, so I'm used to cleaning outside windows.
