Appliance Packages

I posted this on the Appliance board but wanted to post here also.

I've read the opinions about buying all the same brand appliances and I agree...except....

PC Richards is having a Sale of the Century. They currently have every applicance I want on sale but they also have an Electrolux Stainless Steel Wave-Touch package. Price not given but you do get a $735 Amex reward card.

So now I am making myself crazy. 1. Will they hold off delivery until middle of next month. 2. Should I stick to the original plan and get the Samsung FD fridge, Kitchen Aid dishwasher, Samsung Microwave and Fridgidaire stove or consider the Electrooux package.

Will be going there tomorrow. I am on a budget but they are offering 10% off the Electrolux.

What would you do?

There'll always be another sale, so your term "sale of the century" isn't actually true. Don't worry, there'll be Spring Break Sale, Memorial Day Sale, 4th July Sale, Summer Sale, Labor Day Sale, etc. etc.

Also, you will be living with these appliances for years, cooking on them every day. So, let's say you save $500 on this sale--but don't get the appliances you really wanted. A year from now, when you are pining for the appliance that got away, will you be saying "well, at least I saved X dollars"?

Also, be careful of delivery fees. Sometimes the stores say they are giving you a great package at a great discount. Then they get you on the delivery charge. Delivery is often negotiable, but may not be if they say they are giving you some huge sale price on the package.

Hi, I went to PC Richards and took ther plunge. My GC says the kitchen will be ready for the appliances around March 20th. So I actually took delivery on March 26th. I purchased the following:

Samsung FD RFD237AARS
Fridigiare Range FGGF3041KF
Fridigiare Microwave DGMV174KF
kitchen Aid Dishwasher KUDS30IVSS

I'm happy with the purchases and can't wait until 3/26.
