Hi Lisa, have you looked at the color threads in the Gallery? They show lots of beautiful rooms and name each paint color. That might help you narrow it down.

What about a sage green with gray undertones? i.e. Benjamin Moore Saybrook Sage?

I second the sage green suggestion. Greens look great with cherry. I have that combination in my master bedroom.

Also, I have dark lyptus floors (that look like a medium cherry) and cherry cabinetry on my main floor and both Sherwin Williams Ivoire and SW Blonde look great with the redness of the cherry. Both of those colors are in the same family with the Blonde being a goldish color (but not orange) and the Ivoire being a soft, pale golden yellow. It really sets off the cherry nicely and is so warm and inviting.

I wouldn't give up on the blues just yet, especially if you're a blue person. (Objectively the green would look nice as well, but I'm not a green person.) I've been seeing many, many fabrics lately that combine the caramel color of medium-stained cherry cabinets with all shades of blue. (Of course that's what I'm looking for. LOL) You might want to look at fabrics and see what grabs you. Ideally you can come up with a color scheme that flows from room to room and then pick the paint colors.

I'm not sure I can see gray with cherry, but that's me. It might depend on the shade of gray.
