AFTER: (2 mos of work)

We added cladding to the sides/edges and roof line to beef up the structural appearance. Re-built the rotten door bottom and opening. Scraped the door panes and 3 windows which were multi-paned too, re-glazed all panes (only broke 1 pane of glass).

Caulked, caulked and more caulk. I even caulked every joint between every cedar slat. Crazy I know ... and I have gotten tons of criticism but I am sticking to my reasoning and plan.

Laid the stone "patio", a little landscaping surround, and added some accents (my better half is wicked awesome with spray paint). Voila !!!

I love the paint color combo. Will you actually USE it as a shed, or a little place to sit and have ice tea some time?

I had big plans for my shed, built in 1937, as a little guest cottage,but a friend has filled it up with things from 2 storage units. I offered him the space to save money.

My3Dogs ... holy cow ... your shed IS A cottage! So beautiful (love your property too). Out little shed is just for storage but we did paint the interior and organized it like a potting shed.

We have another large shed that looks like a trailer (ugly) and used to be a chicken coop. That is coming down and will eventually be replaced with something a lot nicer and in the same theme as the little one.

I am not sure which image you are talking about. To the right of the door there is a painted metal yard ornament (little girl reaching for the stars). To the right of the girl -- on the corner -- is a celestial hanger with a pot of purple wave petunia's (that is really hard to see).

Thank-you! It is a sweet little shed. The original owner who built both the house and the shed used to make furniture in it. Apparently he could do just about anything. His granddaughter who lived next door many years ago now lives in CT and she and her hubby stopped in a few summers ago and asked if they could see the house and shed now. She was thrilled that I love both.

It was the little girl reaching for the stars that I couldn't figure out. :-) I made curtains for my shed windows, too. And a few years ago, I replaced my triple casement over the kitchen sink, and had it recycled to the river side of the shed. If I ever DO get to use it as a little guest house, I'll have fun working on the interior.

This pic is before the casement went in. That ash tree that had grown SO close to the shed had to come down first. It kept us warm that winter!

I've always wanted something like this. I like your paint colors and building up a patio in front is a really good idea. And you landscaped it, too. So cute!
