    I had trouble finding one, too. Here is ours that we built with our new home. I don't know how to send more than one picture at a time, so here's the first one, that shows the grill, gas burner (we fried shrimp and oysters last weekend!) and pergola. We have really enjoyed it! {{!gwi}}

    Here's another picture. I need advice, too. We're thinking we need to hang an iron/metal decorative piece (probably round) over the fireplace. During the holidays, I tried putting the wreath (you see in the fireplace) on the mantle, and it kept blowing off. It was pretty heavy, too, so figure we need to nail something down - ha. Suggestions are welcome! {{!gwi}}

    Here's the third one. I forgot to mention the pergola has since been sealed. We had just moved into house in November and we had to wait to be sure the wood was dry before we finished everything. But this gives you an idea.

    Wow, that's nice--- add a roof and you would have another house. I am sure someone can help with the metal stud. Mine will be a relatively small cooking island with bar beside pool. Trying to decide whether to go prefab or masonry.

    Thanks!

    Thank you. Yes, it started off small, but by the time my husband, the landscaper and builder got through with the plans, it had grown!

    I'm envious that you have a pool. We've been trying to find someone locally to add a small water feature - smaller than a pool, larger than a spa - to go on the left of the fireplace in the corner yard. No luck yet.

    But I digress. Good luck with your plans!

    some call these "spools" spa-pool....popular, especially for those baby-boomer folks that never really make it from their nice warm spa to the pool

    wodka, is that stamped concrete? What color did you use if you don't mind me asking? thanks

    You might want to check Ballard Designs or Frontgate (they both have a websites) for iron work. Be careful to get some that can handle the elements though. I hung a piece over my front entryway a few years ago, and it rusted onto my keystone.

    They both have outdoor sections.

    Your outdoor living area is gorgeous, by the way! Does your pergola give you lots of shade? We're having one placed over our existing patio when we have our pool installed, and it will be 4" on center.

    tamareta - yes, it's stamped concrete. Our color is sandstone. We did the driveway, front sidewalk and patio all in the same pattern/color. We really like it, too.

    smbnobles, thanks for your suggestions. I'll check them out. I also thought I'd check Hobby Lobby - this week their metal & iron garden decor are on sale...

    Believe it or not, the pergola does provide a good bit of shade, more than I thought it would. Good luck with yours!

    Now, if I could only find someone to build us a "spool!"

    We're pretty much getting a spool. I'm trying to find someone to build me a pergola. :-)

    Riles---thanks--- I couldn't find it because I was looking in garden web---can't believe we don't have one--- there is a forum for everything else

    There's some good info and advice here. I'm starting to feel inclined to have one installed myself.

    This link isn't a forum, but BetterPatio has really good information about prefabricated outdoor kitchen islands here.
