New build in Gilbert, AZ

We are VERY early in our project but my wife and I have decided to try and get this project done ASAP. We had a landscape architect do a layout of our BBQ, landscaping, etc as well as the pool. Now we are in the process of talking to various vendors and trades and figuring out how to tweak this design. Some of the feedback that I've received:

-Don't put in a spa (I don't have gas - have to set a tank, plumbing, etc) because it will add tremendous cost and go unused.

-The spa is too big

-The distance from the spa to the other side of the pool is too small (~9.5')

-Reverse Saltillo tile is a HORRIBLE idea for decking on a salt pool.

-Reverse Saltillo tile is great for decking on a salt pool if you use a salt resistant sealer

A lot of the issues that people have raised are a matter of preference (like the spa) and things that we'll have to decide on our own. Beyond that, I have a TON of questions on the best mechanical system, to sub or not sub, etc. The fun has just begun!
