Umbrella pole stuck in pool sleeve

My umbrella pole is wood and is stuck in pool sleeve. Forgot that it is wood and left it in the pool. Now that it has been stuck forever and I have tried to remove it and can't. Anyone have any ideas to get it out without having to drain pool down to remove pole?
