this is sort of the eternal pool forum question between swg and stone. I think it doesn't matter - crappy coping flakes and dissolves no matter what. So if you are like me, i had salt and flagstone, flagstone chipped and wore down. I now have travertine and salt, and have no problems. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, tfons..it was a point I didn't make in my last post to sisi...flagstone, slate, etc.. even concrete can all disintegrate, depending on many various factors, as we all have seen and read about.

Sisi...you need to learn more about balancing your pool water chemistry no matter what you have IN the water, be it salt generated chlorine, liquid chlorine, stabilized chlorine tabs, minerals or metals, baquacil, etc. It'll be well worth your time. Just search under my recent posts. The folks at TFP gave me the resources and knowledge I needed to make sure I knew how to take care of my pool and water. You can still be very successful with your SWG...I have one with all natural stone materials, and plan on using it for years. Just know that with natural materials....SEAL IT, SEAL IT, SEAL IT. And then re-seal it on a regular basis.

Chlorine destroys marble, it eats through it if it can lie on it, I've just had all the copings around my pool sanded down by a company and sealed
