And what to you do with it? Spread it on crackers?...Do you serve it as a cheese ball? Like you would a savory one?
Wouldn't be too hard to extrapolate that recipe....sub 1/2 cup brown sugar for 1/2 cup of the powdered sugar.....and chopped dried cherries for chocolate chips add about 1 tsp amaretto and roll in chopped toasted almonds...
And you could do a similar thing with dried pineapple and toasted coconut.

Same as any cheese balls, spread on crackers, except I'm gonna go to local gourmet deli and find a gourmet cracker.

I've made this for a Christmas Open House and served it with Gingersnaps. Was well received.

glenda, this was a very popular recipe on a board that I frequent. They served it with graham crackers or ginger snaps.

glenda,actually I just looked at what I had saved and it is a little bit different but it got rave reviews.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

1- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 stick butter, softened
1/2 cup chopped pecans, finely chopped
2 tbls. light brown sugar
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips

Combine all ingredients (except choc. chips) in a bowl, much like you would a cookie dough. Refrigerate for at least half an hour. Take out mixture, form into a ball, then roll it in the choc. chips. Refrigerate again until ready to serve. Serve with graham crackers, or shortbread cookies.

alterations: marscapone in lieu of butter
add toffee bits
serve with gingersnaps
