I don't have direct experience with this, but I wouldn't hesitate. In my experience, Costco does not offer shoddy products, and they back up their stuff better than almost any other company out there.

If these are the doors I'm thinking of, you order via costco but they are delivered and installed by your local dealer.

It's a good system in as much as garage doors aren't easy, and its good that they don't hand it to you and turn away. You have someone to turn to down the road for service and waranty stuff, and they really know the product.

But you have to trust that your local dealer is honest, will actually give you a discount for having gone through costco, and won't find any way to sneak in extra charges.

We purchased our last car through Costco, and I'm certain I would have done just as well if I'd just walked in off the street. I should have gone to the dealer first, chosen the car, received a 'best price' written deal BEFORE playing the costco card...

I bought an Amarr garage door through Costco that was installed in July 2015. The door I purchased came with a "limited lifetime warranty." In October 2016, the cable that allows the door to be opened broke. I called the installer, provided through, Costco, and was told that labor on the lifetime warranty was NOT covered after the first 12 months. The labor charge to replace the cable would be $150. I would advise prospective garage door buyers to look for local garage door companies that offer parts AND labor warranties.

Have you talked directly with Costco customer service, maybe at the supervisory level? Costco tries to keep its customers happy, and I have found them to sometimes be willing to bend the rules a bit...

Don’t do it, worst service ever, 4 months and still don’t have doors, they have my doors but can’t install them for another month, doubt will have them at that time. They make less money on people that go through Costco so because of the discount I feel they put you at the bottom of the list for ordering, delivering and installing. Don’t do it, I ended up saving $160 by way of Costco gift card compared to other quotes from other dealers….not worth it, in hindsight I would pass on the gift card for good customer service (constantly made up different stories on why doors had not arrived) and to get my garage doors when I was told I would get them at time of sale. They have no problem taking your money, once they have that who cares when you get your doors. Don’t do it just go to a reputable dealer, Costco does nothing to back you up. I will never use Costco for any 3rd party installation, nope, not worth it.

Have you contacted Costco to get them to light a fire under the installer? I've found them to be helpful in situations like this. A vendor who doesn't perform is not going to be allowed to continue to work for Costco. Unless it's a supply issue due to covid, there is no way I would not expect Costco to resolve this pronto.

The price was great comparison to others but we ordered our door in March, today is almost November and it’s not ready yet and there is no deadline, we paid full price in March, this is Costco policy so do not recommend

I suspect it's a supply chain issue. I need a broken spring replaced in my garage door and my repair guy told me he hadn't gotten a shipment of new springs from any of his suppliers for 4 months.

Find out how many Costco locations the vendor is contracted with. If it's 1 or 2 make sure you read the reviews and get quotes from other companies. If they are contracted with several costco locations then they have met and maintained costco's customer service standards. I've done 2 HVAC installations through Costco, and am very happy with both. Contractors that do business with Costco are getting squeezed by the equipment manufacturers, and by Costco. Also, Costco is very big on the customer experience. 1 or 2 negative customer reviews can derail a relationship between Costco and the contractor. The company I used for the second HVAC installation was exceptional, and they are contracted with every Costco in the state of Georgia.
