I can't quite see the color of the buffet but, try it in the navy wall and see how it looks. I might also suggest hanging all of the mirrors on the wall rather than sitting on the piece.

I like it too... You could add some crystal accessories for some sparkle... :)

Looks good to me as is. I like the dresser. It's the right scale and proportion. If the color bugs you, a few paint options are:

1. Paint it the same white as your stair railings/trim/door if you want a more coordinated look.
2. A pale yellow would make it really stand out against and amplify emphasis on your navy walls.
3. A gray paint with some burnished silver leafing would make it look more modern.
4. A deep, rich mahogany brown would make it look more traditional for your classic home.

i think that against the navy walls it goes well as it is, to balance all the white trim and door.

Loads of approval, with one dissenter. I agree that it looks fine. I had a momentary desire to lacquer it in a bold yellow until I realized how traditional the rest of the room was.

I would keep the color as it is...nice contrast with the Navy blue walls. But definitely raise the mirrors into a nice grouping on the wall behind the chest of drawers to bring the eye up and then re-arrange your other items on the top of the chest accordingly. Good luck!

I was thinking gold leaf at first until I saw the rest of the decor too. A rug would really add a nice touch-:)

i love the silver. Silver leaf even better. I'm a big fan of that. The dark wood would sink that wall into a void. I would also want to put a vote in for a yellow. Bright lemon. But I only say that because I'm trying hard NOT to want to paint my mahogany dresser yellow. It would be going in a dark gray room.

Hunt down some more pretty frames, install beveled mirrors and continue the grouping "en masse" above the dresser, left as is.

I agree with Natalie that a rug similar to the one she selected would help to "anchor" the immediate area around the chest of drawers and create more of a "vignette".

Ok looking at it now I like it. It's the mirrors that were throwing it off.
Would you hang them as they are or in a different arrangement? I like it but I never know how to do the grouping situation

I would lay out your mirrors on a large table...or the floor...that way you can juggle them around and see which arrangement you like the best...and then duplicate it on the wall.

Could I still put a high gloss on the dresser? I love traditional mixed with a little contemporary...if you can even do that

Butcher paper on the floor and arrange mirrors within a space as wide as the dresser width. Once your are happy with that arrangement, outline the frames with pencil. Tape up on the wall and hang pictures. After proper hangers have been inserted in wall to hang pieces, tear off the paper behind them.

I love the dresser as is too! I also liked the suggestion of a rug. It would really tie everything together.
