UFO Done (pics)

In 2003 13 quilting friends did a friendship block exchange. Most of us were pretty new to quilting so suddenly we had to make perfect blocks exactly 12``. This was a real struggle as we didn`t know about scant quarter inch seams and how to check that our seams were a true quarter inch.

We each drew a number and that was the order we received our blocks. When your turn came, you were hostess for the afternoon of snacks, coffee and quilt chatter as well as receiving your 24 blocks.

We certainly got to know each other better and had so much fun and we have lasting fond memories.

I have had this ready to quilt for years! I started out machine quilting but the quilt was too big and heavy for me to move around. Last winter I hand quilted the blocks and thought I could machine stitch the sashing blocks. It got tossed around all summer and I finally decided enough is enough and finished the machine quilting on my new treadle.
