My husband and I just bought an older home- (an 1887 Queen Anne) and replaced all of the downstairs windows. We ordered the windows in pine so that we could choose the stain or paint color. The problem is that I am feeling overwhelmed by how much wood there would be in the room if we stained it all- all the windows and trim. The dining room currently has a painted cream trim while the living room area has wooden trim and the hallway has white painted trim!

I find myself liking homes that have a lot of white in them (I really like gray and white) and can't seem to find any pictures of rooms I like that have stained trim- but is still modern looking. I do not want to decorate this house in the Victorian style. Any thoughts on the trim/window colors?
