I'm dying to know IF anyone EVER had a brown sink. not my cup of tea that's for sure. I'd listen to DH if I were you. Especially if you're looking at those granites. I have crema bordeaux. A brown sink would look awful with it.

Don't remake the wheel just because you're remaking your kitchen. Some things are classic for a reason.

I love my cafe brown sink. I like that the sink blends in with the granite rather than standing out and drawing your eye to the sink rather than the other more beautiful elements in the kitchen. The tone is warm and the dark color is more forgiving when it comes to showing any food stains.

We have the cafe brown sink with typhoon bordeaux granite and we love it. I think it looks really sharp in the kitchen. People have black sinks all the time and stainless sinks so why not a dark cafe brown. It is a softer color than the black and still a nice neutral that pretty much everything goes with.

You must have Thomasville or Diamond cabinets? I was ready to go with the Whiskey/black and changed at the last minute to the Cherry/coffee glaze. Either way, I have the biscuit granite sink in my garage. I considered the Cafe brown but glad I decided on biscuit. I was going with a light granite at the time but now it looks like Baltic brown.

I really wanted the Cafe brown sink but ended up with the biscuit because it went better with my granite. I just think the brown is different but also much softer than the black. I think it will look gorgeous with your TB or CB granite I wish I had gone that route just being honest.

I have a Cafe Brown silgranit sink. It's not installed yet as my granite is being installed next week. I think the cafe brown sink will be beautiful with the new venetian gold granite. I will post pics as soon as it is installed. I know alot of people on here have the black (anthracite) color, but I went with cafe brown as it will match the granite better.

We've had Cafe Brown with Crema Bordeaux installed since November. It is gorgeous. Easy to keep clean and blends beautifully with the granite. (Sorry the pic is so dark)

It is a beautiful color! A friend of mine recently had one installed with her Silestone countertop and it is perfect!

Had it had been available when I did my kitchen 4 years ago, I probably would have it myself.

kitchenredo, let's agree to disagree because I think the brown sink pulls my eye away from the stone. And it is a gorgeous stone.

but that's what makes it all fascinating: everyone sees things differently and has their own style. I like that even if brown sinks aren't for me. ;-)

kitchenredo and all others with brown sinks, I'm sorry if I let my own personal taste come off like a Miss Know It All. I don't. Come look at my kitchen and you'll see that I don't.

I do, obviously, have a different style and I realize it has never leaned towards any color sink other than white, like farm house, or stainless. I hate when I reread something and if I didn't know I was trying to be funny, I'd think "what a beeyotch." Anyway if I hurt anyone's feelings it was not my intention.

And I admit, because of my personal bias, I was quite surprised to see how many people like and/or love their brown sink. Live and Learn. Which is just one of the reasons I love this site. :-0

No problem, buddyrose - we all have things that we truly prefer and it IS refreshing to see other views on the same subject, pros AND cons. I know I can get hung up on the smallest of details and look forward to hearing from people with a fresh and different viewpoint.

Personally, I love having someone convince me that another way is better. I should have gone into law - I do enjoy a rousing argument...;-).

Did you get to see all the sinks yet? We have Typhoon Bordeaux and I chose a black sink, but brown would have looked nice also. I just couldn't make up my mind, so I went with black. I like the brown - it's a nice change.

I like my brown w/ GO granite, but do think that Marybeth's bisquit looks fabulous!

krissd - Typhoon Bordeaux is on the Top 10 list - well, I'd like to think it was on my top 3. I think black suits TB perfectly as it's got more of the greyish granite tones in it. There are so many beautiful granites out there, it's very hard to narrow them down.

What color is the sink strainer basket for the ones who have brown sinks? Stainless steel? If if is oil rubbed bronze, did the coating hold up well after months of use?

This is an old post, but I have had my cafe brown sink since 2010. I still love it. However, the oil rubbed bronze coating on the strainer did not hold up. It is rubbed off in areas to reveal the goldish color underneath. I wish I had a finish that wasn't capable of being rubbed off!

Thank You! That's exactly what I have found to be the case with almost any coated sink strainer. My husband says it would have to be anodized in order for the color to stay on permanently. Guess I will end up with stainless steel. ☹
