I recently purchased a Singer Red Eye model 66 (made in 1922) treadle from a friend and have it in working shape except it sews forward a number of stitches then sews backwards a couple before going forward again. This action usually breaks the thread at the needle. Maybe I am treadling wrong? Do I need to make more adjustments? How do I keep it going just forward? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
