HydroShield Sealant?

I have some granite that is failing to maintain stain protection using Stonetech Bulletproof sealant. So, I have to keep removing stains every few months and then reapplying the granite sealer. This is a huge pain.

Has anyone had HydroShield applied to their granite and/or shower doors? It is warranted for 5 years on granite and 3 years on shower glass.

A Google search of HydroShield mostly results in links only to places selling the product. I cannot find any real reviews.

I don't see any reviews at all, good, bad, fake or otherwise.
There are not dealers in every state and they require professional application, so it is not a widely known product. The warranty says that if the coated granite surface stains within the five year period, they would either refund your purchase cost or recoat the surface at their expense. Right now, I cannot even go 5 months between reapplication of the current granite sealer. If I only had to reapply every 2 or 3 years, then I wouldn't be looking at this, but reapplying every 3 months for the last 4 years is way too much work and makes me really regret getting granite in the kitchen and bathrooms.

The company that installed the counters went out of business a few months after the installation.

Hydro Shield is NOT your everyday over the counter granite sealer. Most of those products are what is called a penetrating sealer that "soak" into the granite and protect under the surface. Hydro Shield Penetrates but also chemically bonds to surfaces at the molecular level eliminating microscopic peaks and valleys where corrosion and stains begin. This causes the liquid to sit on the surface with a higher contact angle. The Hydro Shield warranty is backed by your local authorized installer with a true warranty. Hydro Shield has been tested to last up to 15 years on Granite. Hydro Shield is opening new areas all the time. Hopefully someone in your area becomes a licensee soon. The product REALLY works! I personally have not found another sealer that works as good or better.

I have a business card for a Frank Freda, owner of Hydro Shield of Somerset Hills, NJ. Haven't called yet.

I suspect for a tricky material like granite, a fancy sealant is worth the money. Has anyone used Hydro Shield on glass shower walls or plain old grout? Probably sticks to grout (cement) fine, but in my experience nothing sticks to glass for long, judging from many years of applying Rain-X to my car windshield!

We had bathroom remodeled 10 yrs ago and paid for expensive shower glass that was clear. Had HydroSheild applied
    Worked great
You clean with small amount of alcohol and distilled water but just needs squeegee or microfiber
I havent been diligent about cleaning ( asthma) but both the Lacticrete grout our tile guy used and the Hrdroshield were worth their money.
We are selling this house soon and I wont reapply Hrdroshield. But I am having it applied to glass in showers in new home. And to grout cause had no control over grout builder used—not custom home.

My girlfriend has had Hydro Sheild applied to her granite counters and is extremely happy and she gave me our local dealer's phone number whose name is also Frank, here in the Melbourne Florida area. He came out and did a demo for us and showed us the difference on a piece of That was extra from countertop installation. I couldn't believe the difference! And no, it's NOT just another sealer. As another person mentioned here in this thread, it puts a chemical bond, called a covalent bond which you can google to see what that is, that is different than any "sealer". You're not supposed to need sealer for quartz, but when we saw a difference, and how it would protect it. We're definitely going to have it done. I don't wanna pay that kind of money and have my counter start staining even though they're not supposed to, from the manufacturer. So like most things take insurance/assurance into your own hands; by applying Hydro Sheild. We're gonna have it done on our brand new shower to protect what our currently glossy tiles as well as the grout that is white, from future hard water, soap scum and Cetera the stuff wipes right off. We don't have a glass door there or I would do it. Frank told us not to bother doing our older shower, that does have a glass door because there's already scratches there and he doesn't feel it'll be worth the money. Let me tell you one of the things besides kitchen and bathroom counters, and your new tile YOUR TOILET! Not the old one that you scratched up with a brush that contains metal in the wand or worse one of those pumice stones that actually scratches your pour on and causes more stuff to stick to your toilet! But in our reconstruction flood, we also have had a new toilet installed. Imagine that covalent pond there so stuff doesn't build up from hard water, scale, and all that other nasty stuff in your toilet. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure... so now that we're back from a vacation, once we get our house unpacked and settled in again, we are going to have Frank back out to apply Hydro shield to everything but the bathroom, that he advised us against. I really appreciate that because it shows me he's not just trying to sell the product, and make money. and everything he quoted, being Too kitchen counters, new shower and maybe the tub, bathroom vanities, and the new toilet was only around $600. And no re-application all the time.
