That is sooooooooooooo unique. Your grout couldn't be better - absolute perfection. What a wonderful little trash to treasure table. Where you puttin' it? I so love this, and while I was visiting my DD in Dallas over the weekend, she had a wrought iron garden chair that lost it's back and I sooooooo wanted to sneak it into my Jeep to use as you've done here (for a gift for her, of course), but resisted the urge. I LOVE this table.

Where am I putting it? LOL!! Jack the tom cat has taken a liking to it and before it was grouted would go to sleep on it in the basement. DH just called me in the livingroom where I had placed it and guess who's on the table????

Love the color combination and the green textured glass. Nice job cutting and laying the green glass on the edge. Real professional looking.

Actually Sirius, the edge is made of ceramic tiles for a bathroom or kitchen. The textured stain glass did provide a bit of a challenge. Simply set on the table, it would have been too low, so I cut the same shapes from white opaque stain glass and glued it to the corresponding textured piece. This gave each of them a bit of a lift.

The white pieces behind those texture pieces were cut slightly smaller so when I grouted, the dark grout went behind the textured pieces for about 1/4 inch which created a really nice look.

Sometimes I think too much... But I think it paid off in this case. :O)

I'm glad you pointed out the details under that green textured glass. I now notice the dark outline your technique created. I have some of that textured glass - rather brittle and not so easy to shape. You did good.

That is the cutest table! I LOVE it! I see what you mean on the edge of the glass, it looks great, like you meant to do it that way. The grout color is perfect!

WOW! Really LOVE this table! Glad you ponted out the green textured glass ...the grout leaking around it sure makes it look unique and BEAUTIFUL! Great colors...Great design..GREAT work of art!!!

This came out so nice, no one will ever know it began as a chair! I really like those colors and that was very clever to make that lift for the textured glass.
( I believe that I have the same chairs in my dining room now, my Dh may just come home to 1 less! )

Absolutely LOVE everything about the little table! Jack, as all cats, understand that the best place to showcase himself is on the prettiest spot in the house! Your little patterned flowers are such a wonderful idea....may have to copy that one. Was it hard to position and drill the correct angle to re-attach the legs? Looks like it was complicated from that standoint as well. Great Job!

I'll post photos here of the bottom of the table. As you can see, I didn't completely remove the seat, even though the thought of drilling holes for the legs to go in had come to mind. What I did instead was cut most of the seat out. Then came the issue of leveling the surface. In the second photo you'll see that the seat was made out of layers of wood pressed together then glued. So I took a chisel and began taking layers out to make it level. Then I positioned the legs to the surface and glued with clamps leaving it be for several days.

Now a word of warning to anyone who might decide to cut such a seat. Since lots of glue was initially used in the making of the original seat, do not try to cut with a jigsaw or the like. Use a circular saw... and ear plugs!!

A Canadian Gift Exchange might not be out of the question. :O) I will probably hibernate for the next little while though since I have one messy mosaic room to clean up after finishing WIPs which had been lingering! Feels good to be looking at starting something else.

That is so KEWL!!!! Its like a funky green amoeba...I love how you explained it all so well, especially with the green glass and how you made it thicker by using two pieces!!!! When I did my mosiaked chair recently I really should have taken off the seat and made a new one..it was layered like you said your wood was and I just couldnt see myself getting it reworked correctly!!!
