Entertainment center: glass or black-brown?

Heu guys!
I have one small space for living and dining area, mostly the furniture is black-brown. I wanted to get a new entertainment center, and my goal is not to overload the space. I was thinking about a glass/metal entertainment center vs dark (matching other furniture), long, low-sitting contemporary?
I have 2 HUGE picture-wondows, that's why I thought glass would be better...
What do you think?

P.S. I will be changing the green walls to cook khaki color ("tapestry beige" by Ben More) and hanging a TV on the wall above entertainment center in 1year (no budget this year).

How about putting together a unit like this? Could definitely design something using IKEA. And IKEA has glass fronts.

I have tried the bookcase in the past, it does not seem right, since it sits TOO HIGH... I have a really low seating couch...

Is it too high because you are including the piece you have the t v on now? Empty the bookcase to allow space for the equipment,

I did empty up space for the equipment...In my opinion, it still looked not balanced (different height pieces)

Yes, Ikea is the answer to so many entertainment center problems as they have such a variety of pieces that can be put together to suit almost all needs. With your windows, a glass front system will get lot of reflections in the daytime, and at night from any lights you have on in the room. So I'd go for an espresso or black finish, keeping it low, or building it up around your future wall hung TV. You might incorporate a bookcase system into it and sell the one you have.
