Hello everyone.
In January a colleague and I will be opening a psychotherapy practice. We will be sharing the space. We need to have a loveseat, a couple of chairs, and desk or some other sort of table we can use to write notes. I would also like to have somewhere where I can have a coffee machine. These are our two major dilemma's: 1) the space is fairly small and two of the walls have built-ins, so we need pieces that can serve double duty 2) I will be seeing both children and adults. Our area of specialization with adults is infertility, perinatal loss and bereavement. So, my toys need to be easily accessible for my child clients, but also not in full view to be sensitive to our clients dealing with loss or infertility. I was thinking something that maybe had a roll-top or doors that slide away? But I can't seem to find anything suitable. I don't want to just have a bunch of baskets on the shelves. I also need a table that I can sit at with the kids to either paint, draw etc or play a boardgame. I was thinking of maybe having a desk type table as an end table, but can't figure out where and how I would place chairs to make it work. It is a lovely space with diagonal natural cedar paneling on 3 of the walls and a nice large window. We would like the furniture to be durable and fairly casual, but professional looking. Ideas?
