Having outdoor lamp post installed

Hi all,

Hope you can lend your expertise here.

We have a raised ranch, now our main circuit breaker is in the garage which has half the wall below grade.

We are having a anew walkwat put in and we want to add an outdoor lamppost at its beiginning. We are only taliking about 30-40' from the post to the break box.

We have garden bed with shrubs between the break box and lampost.

Without digging a trench for the wire, can one of those underground pipe feeders do the trick in lieu of digging (like they do for installing sprinkler piping) into the piping and to the box? Whats the cleanest and most professional way to have the run from outddors into the garage?

Don't know what an underground pipe feeder is, but you will still have to trench to bury the conduit. The cleanest and most professional way to do this is with schedule 40 or 80 (depending on your code requirement where you live) electrical PVC conduit, buried 18-24", again depending on your code requirement. Where the PVC leaves the house, you need an LB fitting to change from a horizontal to vertical conduit direction. Then you just run the conduit straight up out of the ground into the lamp post base or up the side of the lamp post, depending on how it's wired.

The POCO does that to go under a roadway in our area. An auger type deal and they just push the wire through the ground.

If you are putting in a new walkway why not bury the conduit under that?
