I love your bench. Just beautiful. Are you planning on putting the bench outside? I wanted to mosaic a table to put outside and put resin on it. But I was told it wouldn't hold up and might turn yellow.. Maybe there is a type of resin that will hold up outside that I don't know about. Anyone know?

Your bench is just WONDERFUL!!!!! Does it need to have resin? I saw a post one time of some one coating with resin and eventually it peeled off after turning yellow and ruined the whole piece. Your bench is so winderful I would hate to see that happen.

WOW CHICKEE! The grout REALLY brought out the colors and defined them. WOW!, WOW!, WOW! Your mother is going to treasure that forever. Is it too rough to sit on? Is that why you are thinking resin? You are a grinder like me, so I can't see that being a problem.

Chickee, it is just BEAUTIFUL! Your mother will treasure that. How precious for her to have this in her garden. I don't know about resin. I would check the label for resin to see if it is compatible for outside. It's just gorgeous!

Thank you for all the input on the resin...I will definitely read the directions. I only wanted to do it to try to preserve it even more. I did use the additive instead of water in the grout and thin set because I knew it would be outside.

Hazie- Yes you can sit on it, yup you and I are grinder girls..cant do without it!!

Susie- I did it on mosaic mesh that I cut to shape of the bench. I glued the pieces to that and then thin set that onto the bench. I only did that because I wanted to try the mesh method incase I do another one at a later date because then I could do it without having the item to be mosaiced there.

Im glad you all liked it...a lot of time went into this bench. Now I've gotta become a superwoman and get it over to my Moms, lucky for me she lives close!!! We can just walk it over there, let me tell ya that thing is heavy!!!

I've had 3 mosaic benches out in the weather for about 5 or so years, and they are just fine.....I poured these suckers in the molds..won't be doing that anymore..anyway, no resin or anything...just seal it off and on.....which they haven't been sealed in at least 3 years.....
