I failed my first challenge!

Last weekend I challenged fellow newcomer Stoneybaloney to a challenge--we'd both work on our mosaic projects and post our progress on Sunday evening.

OK, first I slashed the heck out of my finger. I couldn't get it to stop bleeding and had no Band-aids in the house. Dumb mistake that I won't make again.

Then, I broke the 17" x 23" piece of glass that would have been the base for my GOG. By then, the hardware store was closed. So I cut a few pieces of my angel project and sat down with a good book for the rest of the darn weekend.

On Sunday night, we discovered our internet was down (bad cable modem, we think). It's *still* not working; I guess that's DH and my project for the upcoming weekend. I'm "cheating" and posting this very quickly on my lunch (half) hour. But I'll promise to post WIP pictures as soon as I can.

Stoney, your trays looked great. Congratulations on rising to the challenge, even if your partner in crime let you down.

    That's NO EXCUSE!!
    Only if you had a herd of wild elephants being led by a clown on a pogo stick going through your house on June 31st at 1:13 a.m. Would you be excused from not completing your task!LOL
    Heck, we all have those days. Hope your finger heals up quick. BTW: Don't get pickle juice on it. Hurts like the dickens!

    DARN, I hate slashing myself!!! When I started working with stained glass, I coulda/shoulda owned shares in the bandaid company!!! Tile can sure slash too!!! And not to forget wire mesh when you are making armitures!!! Just Git Er Done and post that pic!! Now I know what they mean when they say no pain no gain! LOL!

    Ah, sadiesadie ... I hope your finger is healing, that's one of my biggest fears about working with glass. I'm such a big baby. Plus, I type all day at work which could be difficult with that type of injury.

    My hard drive died this summer and I was without my home PC for close to a week ... was I going through withdrawl! It was horrible! I sure hope yours gets resolved (cheaply) so you don't have a whole holiday weekend without the forum!

    Well, the good news is that you were able to rest and read for the weekend, while no hubby was around.

    I'm still looking forward to seeing your stained glass, I hope you get to work on it soon.

    Oh, sadie...sounds like the gremlins were definitely at work in your life last week-end! Hope that owie heals soon! Hate to do that, but goes with the territory, I guess....every now and then we "need" the reminder to be careful.

    Sadie, Well I guess we can let you off on this one..but no more..let this be a stern warning to you!!! Ha ha..so sorry about you finger.If I dont have one or two cuts at all times I just dont know what I'd do!!!

    oh my, a glass cut and no Internet too!!

    A box of band aids and a tube of neosporin are ALWAYS in my "mosaic toolbox"
