$90 in Conn?????? This guy must be a friend of yours.

I charge $120-$125 just to the West of you in NY.

In Dallas we charge $90 plus the cost of the can, trim and lamp.

jblk, I'll bet your guy is charging the same way as tex does.

$90 including the can, trim and lamp is WAY, WAY low for CT.

You'd better check.

Here in Kansas I just gave a price of $57.50 each on a basement finish. The home owner thought I was ripping them off and canceled me doing the work to have their "contractor" do it instead. Of course they still want me to come upgrade their panel to 200 amps. Even $70 is on the high side in Kansas City unfortunately. No wonder so many companies around here buy the economy halo 6 packs (6 housings and trims in a pack) for $50, that turn to a mustard color after a few years.

I am building a new house in Syracuse NY. My contract states that each additional recessed light is $175. That presumably includes the trim kit. I'd be happy to pay $90.

$175 is quite high, especially for your part of the state.

Do all these quoted prices include the light itself? $100-200
