Some industries needs have their own spec id's so there are sort of sub specifications each manufacturer will meet within thier lines of 'industial, commercial, residental grades. If you want a good recpt, hard to go wrong buying hospital grade.

Send an email to GE, Leviton and Hubbel wiring device departments - see what you get as reference ;)

Somebody will tell you home duplex is going to sit behind your sofa with the same table lamp or tv plugged in for a long time and its worse use is probably yanking the vacuum out once a week, so it doesnt need to be rated for a high number of insert/remove cycles , where_as a commercial so called spec grade might be actually be rated for some industry id# to make/break 10,000 times at 70% of full rated load before loosing any appreciable contact pressures. And that Hospital grade will be good for housekeeping to yank the cord out from a hundred feet away without breaking the nylon face off of the recpt.

There's quite a few of those sub-specs. MilSpec gets real detailed and is unified and many industries will use thier testing spec's.

Don't mind spending a little bit more on quality receptacles. Whether or not there is a difference for *home* usage but the build quality of a com or industial spec grade receceptacle is night and day. The build quality is alot more than the home grade receptacles....

Keep that in mind when you're hanging your arm down behind your bedroom headboard.... not to curse too loud when you're having a heck of a time trying to unplug your clock radio, or when the guts come out of the made in china cord cap. That industial duplex sure grips those things well.

The top-of-the-line Hubbell HBL5262 is designed so that it puts very high normal force on the prongs, but does not require high forces for insertion and removal of plugs. So you won't "rip the guts out of the made-in-China cord cap."

Buy cheap crap & get what you paid for ... again, and again and again.
