You could always repair the holes and make them disappear.

What type of siding do you have Cassie? Sharing a photo would help too.

I never saw anything decorative in that area.

I would fix the hole.

Why are you removing the lights? Dated, damaged, old?

Why can't you simply replace the fixtures with new fixtures? Seems like the easier, less expensive and less labor intensive way to go.

Cassie-I think if you just hang something over the holes any number of critters could find their way into the walls of your home. I would replace fixture or repair the holes.

I do think repairing the holes might be the way to go -Thanks to everyone for the suggestions-but you make a good point countryatheart. Its just the lights on both side of the door kind of lean out and lean over after a while. We have siding so would have to put in piece, sand it out then paint. But I think I like that suggestion. Don't want no critters in my walls.I like the dodads for the exterior site,but none of the designs caught my eye. Problem solved
